This year we resume the Aldea Programme, a Programme for Environmental Education at School.

It's a tool to develop the students' environmentalist skills, the exchange of experiences, teamwork and the creation of professional networks, facilitating the introduction and development of contents related to climate change, bioclimatization, forest and coastal environment, treatment and reduction of waste, biodiversity preservation or the knowledge of Protected Natural Areas of Andalusia in the School Project.

We will take part in Category B

Environmental Education for Sustainability

We will develop three main courses of action:

• Terral Project (Impact of Climate Change on Natural and Social Environment).

• Eco-Garden (Orchard).

• Recapacicla. Education for Circularity.

The aim is promoting schools as places for sustainable learning and for fostering physical and social transformation, where both teachers and students integrate the principles of ecosocial education in their day-to-day performance.

March 22nd 2023

March 22nd is World Water Day. The aim is to highlight the importance of this resource, raising people's awareness and inspiring actions to fight the worldwide water crisis: more than 2,000 million people lack access to basic water and sanitation services.

In 2015, all United Nations members passed the 17 Objectives as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, among them the SDG 6, Clean water and sanitation

It's also interesting to watch the film "The Boy who Harnessed the Wind",  related to the great famine in Africa in 2001, because of the drought and a bad policy of governments, what brought about high prices and food shortage.

2º B students, supervised by teacher Virginia P., have carrried out the activity

New Year Resolutions: A New Life.

They have elaborated original texts where they have expressed, individually or in groups, their concern and awareness about different environmental problems.

They used different literary techniques (literary grafiti, diamond poems, exquisite corpse, literary accordions, short stories, acrostics, kaikus, etc.) and have made a collage and some models with recycled items.

Here are the results:

Reforestation at Parque Amarillo

Today, our SEN and 3º (Diver) students, together with students from CEIP "Blas Infante", some neighbours, Ecologistas en Acción, "Amigos del Jerez de los Árboles" Association and thanks to "Programa Aldea", have planted some trees 🌱🌲🌳 at Parque Amarillo (Parque José Antonio Márquez Rosado), a leisure areas normally used by students and residents.

10 ash trees, 10 hackberries, 5 pyramid trees and 5 NOrway maples have been planted.

And we hope they are not vandalized!😠😡
