GENERAL PROMOTION AND EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR STUDENTS IN ESO

In the last evaluation session the final marks of the different subjects of the year will be provided, expressed for each student in the terms described in article 18 of Order of July 14th, 2016; such qualifications will appear in the corresponding Report Card and in the student's academic record.

 

For students with a negative evaluation, in order to facilitate the extraordinary test referred to in the following section, the teacher will prepare a report on the objectives and contents that are have not been reached and the proposed remedial activities in each case.

 

Students with a negative evaluation may take the extraordinary test of the subjects that have not been passed that schools organise during the first five working days of September. This test will be prepared by each department. The results obtained by the students in such test will be included in the corresponding Report Card and in the student's academic record. When a student does not show up for the extraordinary test of any subject, the circumstance will be specified as Not Submitted (NP), which will have, for all purposes, the consideration of a negative grade.

 

The marks of the subjects failed in previous years will be also recorded in the Report Card and in the student's academic record.

 

In accordance with section 2 of the sixth additional provision of Royal Decree 1105/2014, of December 26thth, an Honourable Mention may be granted to students who at the end of Compulsory Secondary Education have demonstrated excellent academic performance.

 

For this purpose, in order to positively recognize the academic performance and assess the effort and merit of the students who have distinguished themselves in their studies at the end of the compulsory Secondary education stage, Mention of Honour in a given subject may be granted to the students who have obtained an average grade of 9 or higher in this subject in all the courses, and have shown a special notable interest in it. This mention will be recorded in the official evaluation documents together with the numerical qualification obtained and will not entail alteration of such qualification.

 

Likewise, those students who, at the end of the fourth year of Compulsory Secondary Education have obtained an average equal to or greater than 9 in the numerical grades obtained in each of the subjects of the stage, may obtain the distinction of Mention of Honour. Obtaining the Mention of Honour will be recorded in the official evaluation documents of the student.

 

Students' Promotion.

1. At the end of each of the years of the stage and as a result of the evaluation process, the Teaching Team, in a collegial manner, will adopt decisions on the promotion of students to the next level, with the advice of the Counselling Department, attending the achievement of the objectives and the degree of acquisition of the corresponding competences.

 

2. In accordance with the provisions of article 15 of decree 111/2016, of June 14th, students will promote to the following course when all the subjects studied have been passed or there is a negative evaluation in two subjects at the most, and will repeat course when there is a negative evaluation in three or more subjects or in two subjects that are Spanish Language and Literature and Mathematics simultaneously. Exceptionally, the Teaching Team may authorize the promotion with negative evaluation in three subjects when the following conditions are met together:

 

a) two of the subjects with negative evaluation are not simultaneously Spanish Language and Literature, and Mathematics;

 

b) the Teaching Team considers that the nature of the subjects with a negative evaluation does not prevent the student from successfully following the next course, that (s)he has favourable expectations and that the promotion will benefit his/her academic evolution;

 

c) the educational attention measures proposed in the guidance council referred to in article 15.6 of decree 111/2016 of June 14th apply to the student.

 

The Teaching Team may also exceptionally authorize the promotion of a student with a negative evaluation in two subjects that are Spanish Language and Literature and Mathematics simultaneously, when it considers that the student can successfully follow the next course, that it has favourable expectations and that the promotion will benefit his/her academic evolution, and provided that the educational attention measures proposed in the guidance counsellor document delivered at the end of the school year are applied to the student.

 

For these purposes, only the subjects that at least the student must take in each of the blocks of core, specific and freely autonomous regional subjects will be computed. Subjects with the same name in different levels of compulsory secondary education will be considered as different subjects.

 

3. In accordance with the provisions of article 15.3 of decree 111/2016, of June 14th, the student who promotes without having passed all the subjects must enrol in the subject or subjects not exceeded, follow the reinforcement programmes aimed at the non-acquired learning that the Teaching Team establishes and to pass the evaluations corresponding to such programmes, which will be taken into account for the purposes of qualification of the failed subjects, as well as those of promotion.

4. In accordance with the provisions of article 15.5 of decree 111/2016, of June 14th, when a student does not promote, they must stay one more year in the same level. This measure may be applied in the same course only once and twice within the stage and must be accompanied by the specific personalized plan referred to in the cited article. When this second repetition must take place in the third or fourth year, the student will have the right to stay in an ordinary regime while attending Compulsory Secondary Education until the age of nineteen, completed in the year in which the course ends. Exceptionally, you can repeat a second time in the fourth year if you have not repeated in the previous courses of the stage. The repetition will be considered an exceptional measure and will be taken after exhausting the ordinary reinforcement and support measures to solve the learning difficulties of the student.

 

Final Evaluation in ESO.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 16 of Decree 111/2016, of June 14thth, resulting in mandatory compliance with the provisions of Article 21 of Royal Decree 1105/2014, of December 26thth, and as long as it remains in force, at the end of the fourth year, students will carry out an individualized evaluation for either of the two options of academic or applied teaching, regardless of the option taken in the fourth year of Compulsory Secondary Education, or for both options in the same announcement. The individualized evaluation will be carried out in relation to the matters specified in Article 16.1 of Decree 111/2016, of June 14th. In the event that the evaluation is carried out by an option not taken, students will be assessed for the subjects required to pass the final evaluation for such option that they did not pass, chosen by the student himself within the core subject block. In accordance with the provisions of Article 16.5 of Decree 111/2016, of June 14th, students who have not passed the evaluation for the option chosen, or who wish to raise their final qualification of Compulsory Secondary Education, may repeat the evaluation in successive calls, upon request. Students who have passed this evaluation by one option may be presented again for evaluation by the other option if they wish and, if not passed in the first call, may repeat it in successive calls, upon request. The highest grade obtained in the calls that the student has passed will be taken into consideration. The conditions that students must meet to present themselves for this evaluation, as well as the content of the tests, their design and characteristics are those established in sections 2 and 3 of article 21 of Royal Decree 1105/2014, of December 26th.

 

Completion.

In order to obtain the title of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education, it will be necessary to pass the final evaluation, as well as a final grade of such stage equal to or greater than 5 points out of 10. The final qualification of Obligatory Secondary Education will be deducted from the following weighting:

 

a) with a weight of 70%, the average of the numerical grades obtained in each of the subjects studied in Compulsory Secondary Education, rounded to the nearest hundredth and, in case of equidistance, upwards;

 

b) with a weight of 30%, the mark obtained in the final evaluation of Compulsory Secondary Education. In the event that the student has passed the evaluation by the two final evaluation options referred to in article 23, for the final grade the highest of those obtained shall be taken taking into account.

 

In the event that the degree of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education is obtained by passing the test for people over eighteen years old, the final qualification of Obligatory Secondary Education will be that obtained in such test.

 

The title of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education will allow access to the post-compulsory education contained in article 3.4 of Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3rd, in accordance with the requirements established for each teaching.

 

1.-The students who have obtained an evaluation, either positive in all subjects, or negative in a maximum of two, provided that these are not simultaneously Spanish Language and Literature, and Mathematics, will obtain the title of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education. To these effects:

a) The subjects with the same denomination in different courses of Compulsory Secondary Education will be considered as different subjects.

 b) Notwithstanding the foregoing, to obtain the degree it will be necessary for the teaching team to consider that the student has achieved the objectives of the stage and has acquired the corresponding competences.

 

2. The title must include the final qualification of Compulsory Secondary Education. The final stage qualification will be the average of the numerical grades obtained in each of the subjects studied in Compulsory Secondary Education, expressed on a scale of 1 to 10 with two decimals, rounded to the hundredth.

 

3. In the case of students who, due to having been late, or having done part of their studies in a foreign educational system, have not completed the Compulsory Secondary Education in the Spanish educational system in its entirety, the calculation of the final qualification of the stage will be done taking into account only the qualifications obtained in the Spanish education system, without prejudice to what is established in this regard in international agreements or conventions.

 

4. In the case of students who finish the stage after having completed a programme of improvement of learning and performance (PMAR), the calculation of the final grade will be made without taking into account the grades obtained in subjects that would not have passed before the date of their incorporation into the program, when such subjects were included in any of the areas foreseen in article 19.3 of Royal Decree 1105/2014, of December 26th, which establishes the basic curriculum of Compulsory Secondary Education and Bachillerato, and the student would have passed this area.

GENERAL PROMOTION AND EVALUATION

CRITERIA FOR STUDENTS IN BACHILLERATO

End-of-the-year Evaluation.

At the end of each stage year, in the continuous evaluation process carried out, the progress of each student in the different subjects will be assessed as well as the acquired competence level

 

In the last evaluation session, the final grades of the different subjects of the course will be formulated, expressed for each student in the terms described in article 21 of the Order of July 14th, 2016, by which the corresponding Bachillerato Curriculum is developed in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, certain aspects of attention to diversity are regulated and the organization of the evaluation of the student learning process is established. These qualifications will appear in the corresponding Report Card and will be reflected in the student's academic record.

 

In the second year evaluation, when formulating the final qualification, the Teaching Team must consider, together with the assessment of the specific learning of the different subjects and the acquired competence level, the assessment of the academic maturity reached by the students in relation to the objectives of the Bachillerato. Likewise, the Teaching Team must consider the possibilities of the students to continue higher studies.

 

For students with a negative evaluation, in order to facilitate the extraordinary test referred to in the following section, the teacher of the corresponding subject will prepare a report on the objectives and contents that have not been reached and the remedial activities in each case.

 

Students with a negative evaluation may take the extraordinary test of the subjects that have not been passed during the first five days of September. This test will be prepared by each Didactic Department. The results obtained by the students in such test will appear in the corresponding Report Card and in the student's academic record. When a student does not show up for the extraordinary test of any subject, this circumstance will be expressed as Not Submitted (NP), which will have, for all purposes, the consideration of a negative grade. The grades of the subjects they filed the previous course will also be reflected in the Report Card and student's academic.

For this purpose, in order to positively recognize academic performance and assess the effort and merit of outstanding students at the end of the Bachillerato, Mention of Honour may be granted in a given subject to students who obtained an average grade of 9 or higher in such subject in both years, and students who also showed an interest in it, after the Teaching Team proposes. This mention will be recorded in the official evaluation documents together with the numerical qualification obtained and will not entail alteration of such qualification.

 

Likewise, those students who, at the end of the second year of Bachillerato have obtained an average equal to or greater than 9 in the numerical grades obtained in each of the subjects taken at the stage, may obtain the Mention of Honour. That will be recorded in the official evaluation documents of the student. Mentions of Honour will be granted to a number of students not exceeding 5% of the total number of students. In the case of a tie, the qualifications of the first year of the stage will also be considered and, if the tie subsists, the qualifications obtained in the different years of ESO will be considered.

 

 Students Promotion.

At the end of the first year, the Teaching Team, with the advice of the Counselling Department, will adopt the corresponding decisions on the promotion of students to the second year, minding the achievement of the objectives of the subjects studied and the degree of acquisition of the corresponding competencies

 

The students and, if necessary, their father, mother or legal tutors can be heard in a meeting with the tutor.

 

In accordance with the provisions of Article 17 of Decree 110/2016, of June 14th, students will promote from first to second year when they have passed the subjects studied or have a negative evaluation in two subjects, at most. For these purposes, only the subjects included in the main curriculum (obligatory, specific and free-choice subjects) will be computed.

 

Failed first-years subjects. The Didactic Departments will schedule certain activities for each student that requires them and will carry out the corresponding follow-up to verify the overcoming of the difficulties that motivated the negative qualification.

 

Students with subjects failed in the first year must enrol in such subjects, carry out the recovery activities referred to in the previous section and pass the corresponding evaluation. Once this evaluation is passed, the results obtained will appear in Report Cards and their academic record. Students who do not pass the evaluation of failed subjects may take the extraordinary resit test.

 

Without exceeding the maximum period of permanence in Bachillerato in ordinary regime, established in Article 11.2 of Decree 110/2016, of June 14th, students may repeat each one of the years only once but, exceptionally, they may repeat one of the courses a second time, after a favourable report from the Teaching Team.

 

Students who at the end of the second year have a negative evaluation in some subjects, may enrol in them, discarding the rest of subjects, or repeat all subjects.

 

Based on the provisions of article 17.7 of decree 110/2016, of June 14th, for students who study subjects not passed in the second year, schols will develop, through the departments, annual monitoring plans for the subjects that the students had passed the previous years so that they can adequately prepare the final stage evaluation, provided that they are subjects related to such evaluation.

 

Final Evaluation in Bachillerato (Selectividad/PEvAU).

In accordance with the provisions of Article 19 of Decree 110/2016, of June 14th, resulting in mandatory compliance with the provisions of Article 31 of Royal Decree 1105/2014, of December 26th, and as long as it remains in force, students will carry out an individualized evaluation at the end of the Bachillerato, in which the achievement of the objectives of this stage and the degree of acquisition of the corresponding competences in relation to the following subjects will be verified:

 

a) All general subjects studied in the main block. In the case of subjects that imply continuity, only the material studied in the second year will be taken into account.

 

b) Two optional subjects of the main block, in any of the years. Subjects with a continuity between the first and second courses will only count as one subject; in this case, only the material studied in the second year will be taken into account.

 

c) A specific official subject from any year, excluding Physical Education or Religion.

Only those students who have obtained a positive evaluation in all subjects may take these exams. For these purposes, only the subjects that at least the student must complete in each of the blocks will be computed. The content of the exams, their design and their characteristics shall be established in accordance with the provisions of article 31.3 of Royal Decree 1105/2014, o1f December 26th.

 

Passing this evaluation will require a grade equal to or greater than 5 points out of 10. Students who have not passed this test, or who wish to raise their final marks, may repeat the test, upon request.

 

The highest qualification of those obtained will be taken into consideration.

 

In the case of students who wish to obtain the Bachillerato degree in more than one modality, they may request that they be evaluated of the general subjects and the ones they choose from the man block, corresponding to the modalities chosen.

 

Bachillerato Title.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 21 of Decree 110/2016, of June 14th, in order to obtain the Bachillerato Title, it will be necessary to pass the final evaluation, with a mark of 5 out of 10 or higher. The final qualification of this stage will be deducted like this:

 

a) 60%: the average mark of all the subjects studied in Bachillerato.

 

b) 40%: the mark obtained in the final evaluation of Bachillerato (PEvAU).

 

The provisions of articles 44.4 and 50.2 of Organic Law 2/2006, of May 3rd, regulate the ways for students who are in possession of a title of Technician or Senior Technician or Technician of Professional Teaching of Music or Dance, to obtain the Bachillerato Title.

 

In order to obtain the Bachelor's degree, a positive evaluation in all subjects of the two years will be necessary. The final mark of the stage will be the arithmetic average of the marks obtained in each of the subjects, expressed from 0 to 10 with two decimals, rounded to the hundredth.
