YEAR 2021/2022

Our educational system has the aim, among other, of teaching respect to the fundamental rights and freedom and the promotion of tolerance as part of the democratic principles of coesxistence, as well as fostering peace, cooperation and solidarity  among peoples.

In our programme, we take into cosideration interesting proposals to fully develop such capacities, integrating the values of respect, solidarity, peace, coesxistence, equality and tolerance. 

Among the specific actions for the treatment of Values Education, we can find ephemerides  which complement the direct action in class. 

Some of our activities will be developed along with  Gender Equality Department and the collaboration of different Departments.

2nd Term Activities

January 30th

Day of Peace and Against Violence

“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood”.

Art. 1 – Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Freedom, justice and peace in the world share the basis of recognition of the individual rights of human beings.

Activity:

• Sadako and the thousand paper cranes: Different groups wil make paper "Peace Doves and Cranes". (Coordinated by French Department)
• Exhibition: History of Dove of Peace (1ºD) (Carried out by students of French)
• 1st Oratory Contest:"NO EQUALITY MEANS NO PEACE" (Carried out by students of 1º ESO)

February 14th

Day of Love and Friendship

Activity:

Selling carnations campaign, accompanied by a message. French and English Departments will organise different CONTESTS to encourage friendship.

March 8th

International Women's Day

This day we celebrate the women's fight for participating, in the same conditions as men, in society and their development as a person.

The idea of an international women's day was born at the end of the 19th century, a period of industrialisation, expansion, turbulence, when population and radical ideologies were clearly growing.

Activity:

• Creating a list of women that were outstanding in history because of their work in science, arts, culture, politics... studying the difficulties they found.
  
• In pairs, making a role play about living together and household chores distribution.
• From the English Department, there will be an exhibition from the book "Stories of girls who dared to dream". (1º and 2º ESO)

April 23rd

International Day of the Book

On April 23rd 1616, Cervantes. Shakespeare and Garcilaso de la Vega passed away.

Alson on April 23rd, many other renowned authors died: Maurice Druon, H.K. Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla or Manuel Mejía Vallejo.

For that reason, this symbolic date for universal literature was chosen by the  Unesco to pay a tribute to books and authors, encouraging everyone, especially young ones, to discover the pleasure of reading and to respect the authors irreplaceable contribution to social and cultural progress.

Activity:

• Making a tale. Groups of 5 or 6 students will work on edition. Each group will write a tale in cooperation, from a story all of them agree. Once the writing process has finished, a front cover and back cover will be designed and other parts will be added (title, dedication, prologue, authors, index...). 

• Making bookmarks with quotations by famous authors.

(Examples: "Al bien hacer jamás le falta premio". Cervantes)
