SCHOOL EXCHANGE 2017/18 JEREZ-MILAN

ERASMUS+ ITALIA È BELLISSIMA!!!

For sure, Italy is beautiful, as you can see in the pictures below. Thanks to the Exchange Programme agreed with Luigi Cremona School in Milan, 25 students from our 1st Bachillerato groups have visited the North of Italy for one week. They had already met their hosts, as Italian students had come to Jerez at the beginning of this academic year.

We’ve had a great time, visiting not only Milan, with “Il Duomo” or “Il Castello Sforzesco”, but also Venice and the idyllic Borromean Islands.

Arrivederci, Italia!!!

ERASMUS+

European Development Plan

This plan is born from the deep analysis of the needs of the educational community of IES Fernando Savater, from Jerez de la Frontera, with the aim of being part of the EU Erasmus + Programme. Taking into account our needs and the objectives of the programme, we will base our European Development Plan on five basic lines.

1.   Improvement of our skills in English language (several departments and management team):

· We need to improve our language skills through specialised English courses.

· We would like to prepare CLIL materials for our subjects.

· We need to improve communication with our partners in the European Associations (KA2).

2.   Internationalization of our school:

· We would like to improve the teaching quality of our school, in collaboration with Europe.

· We need to know and expand the vision we have about our own curriculum and the curricular elements from other countries.

· We want to use the information to improve and rationalise our career CV.

· We need to link the educational contents with the local, national and European labour market.

3.   Digital knowledge:

· We need to know innovative educational practice and methodologies involving the use of New Technologies.

· We need to extend our knowledge in the area of Digital Tools and Online Programmes applied to education

· We want to be updated regarding the vocabulary, communication and use of social networks and other digital platforms that allow changing and improving education, motivating students, and fighting against school failure.

4.   School Management and Organization Competences:

· We need to know different educational procedures referred to organization and administration for both management team and teaching staff, as well as to the functions of areas coordination, so as to foster coherence between our project and the educational purposes and functioning of our school.

· We want to explore other ways of organization and distribution of classrooms.

· We need to know other educational systems which develop projects that promote creativity, innovation and teamwork, through innovative methodologies.

· We need new forms of cooperation, new synergies between different fields of education and with other institutions: local, regional, national and international.

 5.   Promotion of entrepreneurial culture:

Taking into account that we are in one of the most depressed areas of the European Union, with unemployment rates around 40%, it is necessary to promote entrepreneurial culture in our students, providing it with all the tools at our disposal (oral competence in other languages, capacity for teamwork, creativity and innovation) applied to solve the needs of our setting, to facilitate the entrepreneurial initiative, their future access to a global economy, active citizenship and the labour market. This point has a direct relationship with our KA2 project: "Cities with culture, entrepreneurial cities."

OBJECTIVES

  1. 1.   Support students in the acquisition of competences (knowledge, skills and attitudes) with the aim of improving their personal development and their employability in the European labour market and beyond.

    2.   Support the professional development of teachers with a view to innovating and improving the quality of education, training and working with youngsters throughout Europe.

    3.   Improve the competence in foreign languages of the participants.

    4.   Increase awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering the participants the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and to develop an awareness of European citizenship and identity.

    5.   Increase the capacities, appeal and international dimension of our school so that it can offer the activities and programmes that best meet the needs of individuals, both inside and outside Europe.

    6.   Strengthen synergies and transitions between formal education, non-formal education, employment and entrepreneurship.
